Collection Title

水满则溢,月满则亏
Water full spills, Moon full wanes

comes from a saying that originated in Shanghai, where our collection took place.
Balancing the expected and the unexpected,
13B collaborated with Shanghai based photographer Pinglang Zhou
to visualise our interpretation of the saying.

Set in a traditional Shanghai residence, the story unfolds with local residents as its cast.
With clocks designed by Louie Isaaman Jones responding to the theme on the background,
we captured a series of stills portraying a familiar domestic argument between a husband and wife, the tension rising in parallel with the husband’s whisking of egg yolks,
until the mixture bursts and splashes across the window,
filling the room with a glow of yellow light.
